H-D, West Fork combine for six runner-up finishes

HAMPTON – Helping themselves to four second-place finishes led to a tie for fifth-place for the Hampton-Dumont girls’ track team at its own Lady Bulldog Classic on Friday, April 10.
Runner-up placings for Madison Mason in both throwing events, Jessica Speake in the 400-meter run and Cassy Miller in the 100 hurdles included 32 of the Bulldogs’ 53 points, which tied them with Aplington-Parkersburg for fifth place in the meet that boasted 18 teams.
“Some runners-up,” H-D girls’ coach Nikki Donnenworth said. “Some really strong performances, some of our season bests, a lot of our season bests, so we’re excited about that..."
