H-D receives positive feedback during audit review
The Hampton-Dumont Board of Education was all smiles following an audit report on district finances at their meeting Monday night.
Accountant Dennis Muyskens from Hogan-Hansen, P.C., met with board to review the results of the district’s 2012-13 audit. Auditors spent more than 420 hours filing through expenditures, reimbursement receipts and other accounts trying to find discrepancies, but in the end Muyskens had no problem giving H-D his stamp of approval.
“There was nothing even unusual,” he said.
Muyskens spent the majority of his report summarizing each of H-D’s financial accounts. The district’s overall net worth went up $1.2 million last year, which he said “was a very positive number.”
