The Hampton-Dumont Board of Education was all smiles following an audit report on district finances at their meeting Monday night.

Accountant Dennis Muyskens from Hogan-Hansen, P.C., met with board to review the results of the district’s 2012-13 audit. Muyskens had a few suggestions for improvement, but said the district passed with flying colors. Auditors spent more than 420 hours filing through expenditures, reimbursement receipts and other accounts trying to find discrepancies, but in the end Muyskens had no problem giving H-D his stamp of approval.

“There was nothing even unusual,” he said.

Muyskens spent the majority of his report summarizing each of H-D’s financial accounts. The district’s overall net worth went up $1.2 million last year, which he said “was a very positive number.”
