H-D grad relishes first all-star coaching experience

MASON CITY – Don’t tell Lee Crawford, a Hampton-Dumont graduate and longtime Sigourney head baseball coach, that all he had to do last weekend was coach.
The week was chock-full of nonstop activity during the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association’s all-star series held in Mason City.
Since Thursday’s games were delayed for at least a few hours due to rainstorms, he said the final game that night didn’t end until 11:43 p.m. On Friday morning, Crawford was up and in meetings at 7 a.m., 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., sparing time in the early afternoon for a few interviews.
“You think you come to these and you have some down-time,” Crawford said. “There is no down-time..."
