H-D gets the best of Algona to open with home win

HAMPTON – Everything went Hampton-Dumont’s way in all facets of the game of its home opener.
Until the final inning, H-D was able to get all of the breaks in an eventual 5-3 varsity softball victory over visiting Algona.
It started with winning pitcher Ashlyn Hansen recording five of her six strikeouts of the game in the first three innings on Friday, May 27.
“Really nervous coming out,” Hansen said of the first game of the season. “I think everyone was really nervous..."
