H-D falls in extras

HAMPTON – This game had a little bit of everything.
Hampton-Dumont had its scoring chances and thwarted several from Algona in a defensive battle that ended in a 2-1 loss for H-D in eight innings at home on Thursday, June 22.
Coach Matt Lokenvitz’s team caught three different Algona base runners on the base paths in the late innings, including two at third base, one on a strike-him-out-throw-him-out play to end the sixth when Algona had the bases loaded and no outs.
“We have been playing much better defense the past two weeks and it showed again last night,” Lokenvitz said...
