The Hampton-Dumont Board of Education moved one step closer to finalizing improvement plans at North Side Elementary during its meeting Monday night.

The board unanimously approved a $1.4 million spending limit to pay for facility upgrades at the building. All H-D kindergarten classes will move to North Side next fall due to overcrowding at South Side, and multiple improvements are necessary to accommodate the switch. The district intends to pay for the renovations with reserve funds and hopes to finish the project before Aug. 31.

Brad Leeper and Kate Payne of Invision Architecture met with the board to discuss some of the improvement proposals.
