H-D Approves 2014-15 Calendar

The Hampton-Dumont Community school district heard from students, football fans, and teachers during their meeting on Monday.

     Middle school students Ally Hanson, Patricia Teggatz, and Kaitlyn Hanson spoke with the board about their concerns over the funding and attention that the district’s Talented and Gifted (TAG) program is receiving.

     “We see our TAG teacher daily, but it’s not a TAG class,” said Kaitlyn Hanson.

     The three girls expressed their frustration at not being challenged enough in their classes, pointing out that instead they are asked to spend class time helping other students who are struggling. Likewise, the school resources directed toward programs that focus on struggling students far exceed those that go into the TAG program.
