H-D 8th graders job shadow in Hampton

Hampton-Dumont 8th Graders got a taste of the grown-up world on Friday morning when the class spread out across the community to job shadow with local businesses.

    Before heading out, each student researched the career they were interested in, examining the education and skills they would need along with the compensation and job outlook they could anticipate. The students were then paired up with a local business that best matched their interests.

    “I think job shadowing is important because it gives students a preview of the world at a young age,” said Chelsea Guyer, who chaperoned a group of students.
