Gorder’s Café owner announces retirement

Longtime restaurant owner Jo Gorder has never been accused of slacking on the job.
     “I’m more of a stander,” she said as she rushed around Gorder’s Café in Bradford. “I can only sit so long until it’s time to do something else.”
     Gorder will have more time to focus her attention on rest and relaxation later this summer. She recently announced her plans to retire on June 30 following more than 40 years in the restaurant business, but the decision didn’t come easy.
     “I just think it’s time. I don’t know if I should call it retiring, it’s more that I’m just quitting,” she said. “I don’t like the word ‘retire.’ It sounds like I’m getting really old.”
