Geneva group continues efforts to save school auditorium

     Chipped white paint speckles the brick exterior of the old Geneva school auditorium. Despite bitter February temperatures outside, three large rusty windows remain locked open while others stay shuttered with boards.
     The aging building might look like an abandoned relic of the past, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.
     “Many locals have expressed their opinion that tearing it down would have been an easier option,” said Tonya Sanders, vice president of Geneva Community Betterment (GCB). “But then what? Geneva is a small enough community as it is. Once these structures are gone, nobody will ever know that we once had one of the best schools in the state.”
