Garrigan’s fast start keeps Bulldogs at bay

HAMPTON – Fast and slow went the start of Friday’s North Central Conference boys game between Hampton-Dumont and Algona Garrigan.

The Bulldogs were slow to get kick-started and the Golden Bears were quick out of the gate.

It all added up to a 55-51 Garrigan victory to knock H-D back to 5-13 overall, 4-10 in conference play.

A key in the latest setback was the Bulldogs’ free throw shooting, finishing 9-of-22 from the line.

“We got to the line, which is what we wanted to do,” Bulldogs’ head coach Heath Walton said...
