Franklin County Fair rebounds in 2014

Great weather, new attractions and increased attendance combined to make the 2014 Franklin County Fair a resounding success compared to 2013.

     Fair officials are reporting profit increases in nearly every category from this year's fair, which was held July 16-20. Last year's event was hampered by poor weather and low attendance despite having a prime entertainment lineup. The fair was not to be denied in 2014, as visitors turned out in near record-setting numbers aided by 70 degree weather and new attractions like the Elephant Encounters.

     “I was real satisfied," said Franklin County Fair Board President Jon Baltes. "There were a lot of people on grounds and we sold a lot of POP Passes. It seems like everything just went pretty smoothly this year.”
