Franklin County Dems, GOP host caucuses last week

Low turnout greeted a relatively uneventful evening when the Franklin County Democrats and Franklin County Republicans held their respective caucuses on Jan. 21.

     “We were just kind of talking to our shadows most of the time,” said Franklin County Republican Party Chair Tom Crane. “We were sort of lacking in bodies, but that’s the way it goes sometimes.”

     Both parties had a short agenda topped with routine business. The Democrats met at two locations at the West Fork High School and Hampton-Dumont Middle School, while the Republicans met at the Bradford Fire Station, Hampton-Dumont High School, CAL High School and West Fork High School. Both parties elected delegates for the county convention and also picked alternates and committee members.
