Franklin County approves annual five-year road plan

The Franklin County Board of Supervisors approved its annual five-year road plan earlier this month, establishing eight projects as goals to be completed this year.

County Engineer Jay Waddingham explained that the state requires counties to create five-year road and bridge plans every year, as a way to forecast the condition of infrastructure, and to keep aware of funding requirements and opportunities. The state does not require strict adherence to the plan, however.
