New to the Hampton business community this season is Flowers On Fourth, a floral shop, taking the former location of Sandee’s Flower Shop, 707 4th St NE, Hampton. Under the new ownership of Tiffany Winkowitsch, a Bristow-native, Flowers on Fourth will continue to provide floral arrangements like her predecessor, as of her grand opening on August 1.
Winkowitsch, 23, explained that owning her own flower shop had been both a dream and a passion for her after she graduated high school from North Butler in 2012. She attended Kirkwood Community College, Cedar Rapids, for 2.5 years, studying horticulture and floral careers. She then worked in several shops while continuing to reside in Cedar Rapids, before attending the University of Northern Iowa to obtain her degree in business. When driving through Hampton back in May, she noticed that the storefront was up for sale, and decided to get serious about the prospects of owning a shop.
“When I was driving through and saw the shop for sale, knew it had sold flowers,” Winkowitsch said. “My family was closer to this area as well, and it also gave me the opportunity to fulfill my dream.”
