Flickinger earns his second complete-game victory on the hill

HAMPTON – They say that summer vacation is for laying back and relaxing, but for Charlie Flickinger he’s already worked quite a bit.
Three games into the season and the recent 2015 Hampton-Dumont graduate has pitched two complete-game wins for the Bulldogs, the last in a 2-1 victory over Algona Garrigan on Tuesday, June 2.
“He’s coming off of short rest,” H-D baseball coach Matt Lokenvitz said. “He had a complete game against Osage, threw 72 pitches in a game up there and we won 8-0, so coming here and again, complete game, 100-some pitches and he holds his opponent to not hitting very well, so it’s good.”
