Fisher meets goal to earn state medal

FORT DODGE — IF-A/AGWSR senior Aubrie Fisher met her goal of going out a medalist with a top-10 finish in the Class 3A girls’ state cross country meet on Saturday, Oct. 27.
Fisher used a smart strategy of sticking with fellow NCC competitor, Humboldt junior Bryce Gidel, who had topped her in all of the previous meets.
This time, Fisher made a final push to the finish, passing Gidel (who finished ninth) and placing seventh overall in 19 minutes, 10.6 seconds in her final high school cross country run.
“I feel really good,” Fisher said. “I met my goal so that’s exciting and there’s no better way to end your senior year than meeting your goal and winning a medal at state..."
