HAMPTON – It was a crowded Franklin County Conservation Office on Tuesday, March 10 as all 40 members of the H-D Bird Busters, an ever-growing trapshooting team, assembled for practice.
This day, the group was working on safety, gun cleaning and stance, all of which is very important, especially considering the youth involved.
In the initial season for middle school students, the trapshooting team, which is a non-sanctioned sport (the Iowa High School Athletic Association does not recognize it), drew 28 middle school members, many of which are female.
One of these is Brienna Reichenbacher, who will have two brothers also competing this season....
More on this story will be found in the March 18 print and online editions of the Hampton Chronicle.
