Firework show successful thanks to volunteers, contributions

Letter to the editor:
To the editor:
I would like to thank everyone for joining us on July 3 at the fairgrounds for the fireworks show! The Hampton Rotary Club and the Greater Franklin County Chamber of Commerce sponsored the fireworks show on July 3. Our goal is to bring the community together for an evening of fun and fellowship. When a club takes on a new service project, it is always with a little apprehension about its success. With a couple years under our belt, I was thrilled to see a huge turnout in the stands and in the parking lot.
I would especially like to thank all our wonderful sponsors, friends and neighbors for the generous donations to support the fireworks. The Hampton Rotary Club receives no outside funding for the fireworks show so every donation we receive is needed and greatly appreciated. This year’s sponsors included: Twin States, Inc/Liquid Grow, United Bank & Trust, First Bank Hampton, Soren Heilskov/Edward Jones, Murphy’s Heating and Plumbing, Butch Gruelke Auto Body, Staley Real Estate, North Central Building Supply, Franklin REC, Sietsma-Vogel Funeral Home, KLMJ, Franklin County Fair, Franklin County Tourism, Fareway, Wize Bize and First Security Bank. Every dollar received is put towards the fireworks – any extra money is carried over to make the next year’s show even better.
Of course, money will only get you so far. I would be remiss if I didn’t also thank the many volunteers as well! In addition to several Rotarians, thank you to Chris Sauke and the Hampton Municipal Band for the beautiful music and Steve Waechter for sound system and music. John Krull for sharing his talent and singing the National Anthem as well as George Dean and 4-G Pyrotechics for the fireworks show. Thank you to the Hampton Police, Franklin County Sheriff, Hampton Fire Department, Franklin General Hospital’s Ambulance Service for providing their time and talent.
If I have missed anyone, I sincerely apologize and thank you for your contribution. We are looking forward to another great show next year!
Sincerely,
Becky Bradburn,
Hampton Rotary Club President
