FGH plunges into aquatic therapy

A new form of physical therapy has made a splash at Franklin General Hospital.
This month, FGH began offering aquatic therapy, to be conducted in the therapy pool at Franklin Wellness Center.
Kristin Engels, physical therapist at FGH, said aquatic therapy allows patients to conduct physical therapy routines with reduced stress on the body.
“The reason we like to use it is because of the buoyancy of the water,” she said. “It relieves all the weight on your joints. It takes away the pain but you still get good exercise.”
