FC bald eagle still on the mend

An injured bald eagle found last month near Latimer is facing another hurdle on its road to recovery.
     Caretakers at Save Our Avian Resources (S.O.A.R.) learned last week that the four-year-old female suffered a broken bone during an accident in rural Franklin County. The bird, which had lead poisoning at the time, had some sort of collision that left it unable to move its wing properly or fly.
     The eagle was transported to the proper officials after it was rescued by Jason Gooder and Logan Van Dyke of Franklin County Conservation. Initial X-rays came back negative, but further tests discovered a cracked humerus condyle near the eagle’s elbow joint.
