Embracing diversity will spur community growth in Hampton, speaker says

Local business leaders, government officials and other community members packed Center 1 last Thursday to hear a presentation about the importance of embracing ethnic diversity in Hampton

     The Greater Franklin County Chamber of Commerce and Hampton Main Street brought in Norma Ramirez de Miess to share her insight and expertise about the benefits of building a stronger relationship with the local Hispanic population. Ramirez de Miess is the senior program officer and director of leadership development for the National Main Street Center, and has spent many years helping small communities grow through increased ethnic acceptance.

     “I’m very impressed with this community. I think there’s a lot of potential here and a lot to build on,” she said.
