Store provides authentic Mexican groceries for 18 years and counting
If you want to cook a homemade authentic Mexican meal, or if you are craving a different kind of snack, then you should check out the Mexican grocery stores, El Valle. With locations in Eagle Grove, Humboldt and Hampton, they offer a wide variety of products and produce that comes straight from Mexico, Guatemala and Central America.
Eighteen years ago owners Zugey Mora and Manuel Olmos decided to open their very first store in Humboldt. They did so to fill a need they saw with more Hispanic people coming to town. Two years later, they opened a store in Hampton. When they noticed shoppers driving from other towns farther away, they decided a third, more central store would be a good idea, so they opened the Eagle Grove location six years ago.
Jaime Vemejas, manager of the Eagle Grove location, said they order authentic produce and products about twice a month in order to meet the need of their shoppers, both Hispanic and non-Hispanic. Of course, they have things like peppers and a variety of beans, but you’ll also find things like Hibiscus Flower, Chamomile Flower, New Mexico Chili Pods, Pistachio Natural, cacahuate Japonés enchilado…and so much more.
