The city of Dumont seeks to abate a safety nuisance a commercial property is causing downtown. Brian Miller, attorney for the city, filed a civil petition to this end on Aug. 8 at the Butler County Courthouse in Allison.
The hearing is set for Sept. 6 at 11:30 a.m., following an order filed Aug. 12 by Judge Christopher Foy.
The alleged nuisance property is 509 Main St., Dumont – Naturlich Health and Beauty Corp.
Modern Buildings of Waverly inspected the property at the city's expense and concluded the buildings on the property must be demolished to protect the welfare and safety of the public.
