Death leads to investigation

Multiple law enforcement agencies are investigating a questionable death that occurred Saturday east of Ackley in Franklin County.
     According to a release, a 911 call requesting an ambulance at 2486 Hardin Road was received sometime on Oct. 24. Upon arrival, first responders began life-saving measures on Jennifer Dittmer, 46, and transported her to the Hansen Family Hospital in Iowa Falls, where she later died.
     The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa Division of Criminal Investigations, Hardin County Sheriff’s Office and the Ackley Police Department launched an official investigation into the case following Dittmer’s death. A search warrant was later executed on the residence. Law enforcement officials say the victim’s husband, Randall Dittmer, is cooperating fully with the investigation.
