Cross-country cyclist visits Hampton

Man and his dog travel the country on his bicycle
 
     For the last five years, a man has been traversing the country on his bicycle and with his dog, and happened to pedal his way through Hampton on August 11.  
     Joe Sorrendino, 47, aboard his Trek 3500, is originally form northern California, in an effort to raise aware for the adoption of shelter pets.
     Sorrendino has found his way to nearly every state in the union.
     This trek is his third time through Iowa, and rides on Highway 3 because it is the safest route. He got his 7-year-old dog Ami from a shelter in California.
