Council OKs $362K bid for library improvements

Two large-scale renovation projects at the Hampton Public Library moved a few steps closer to reality Nov. 23 during the Hampton City Council’s meeting.
     The council accepted a $362,230 bid from Adams Concrete & Construction to complete wall repairs and build a courtyard next spring along the east side of the library. The city and the Hampton Public Library Foundation will split the cost of the projects, which were delayed this year due to inflated bid estimates.
     “I’m really glad that we are keeping up with our historic buildings,” said Council Member Jim Davies.
