Council looks ahead to 2015-16 budget

The Hampton City Council got a head start on the 2015-16 Fiscal Year budget during a brief planning workshop Monday night.

     City Manager Ron Dunt ran through a rough draft that detailed funding priorities for each department. Facility improvements, street repair and other infrastructure upgrades received the most attention from the council, which will narrow the list at future meetings.

     “This is an initial first step,” said Dunt. “Just keep that in mind. This isn’t etched in stone.”
