Council fills Ward 2 vacancy

Hampton City Council members were faced with plenty of options to fill a vacancy in Ward 2 Monday night, but in the end their decision was unanimous.
     The council voted 5-0 to appoint Jesse Mollenbeck to the vacant seat left by Jim Davies. Two other candidates – Keith Kothenbeutel and Barry Lamos – also applied for the position, but council members felt Mollenbeck was best suited for the job.
     “I’d like to see Hampton continue improving, but I can already see that it is,” Mollenbeck told the council. “I’m willing to learn and work with you guys as a group.”
