Community participates in walk to aid hunger relief

Area citizens on Sunday broke a little sweat in the unseason-able heat to help those in need.
Church World Services, which provides hunger relief nationally and internationally, on Sunday conducted its an-nual, nationwide CROP Hun-ger Walk, which challenges communities to walk and raise money to help end hun-ger both at home and across the world.
Nearly 30 people affiliated with different churches and organizations in the Franklin County area gathered at First Christian Church in Hamp-ton, bringing perishable food items for the food pantry, before departing on a three-mile walk through the Hamp-ton Cemetery and on the Rolling Prairie Trail.
