More than 200 volunteers teamed up in Hampton late last month to help provide food to people in need.
Meals from the Heartland, a non-profit that packages food for malnourished people in the state, the United States and across the world, brought its mobile service to Church of the Living Word on Saturday, Oct. 27.
Chris Sauke, administrator at Church of the Living Word, said 19 teams packed 40,000 meals over the course of about 4 hours. Along with meal packers, dozens of others also were present to provide other assistance.
