The Hampton City Council met for only 23 minutes on Monday during a regular meeting of the council that was switched from its originally scheduled date of Sept. 26.

The meeting was switched from its normal Thursday night to Monday due to the Iowa League of Cities convention this week. Most of the council members, mayor Shawn Dietz and City Manager Ron Dunt will be attending the convention so the workshop meeting was cancelled and the regular meeting switched.

There wasn't much on the agenda and the main topics of discussion were about missing Hampton man Ethan Kazmerzak and also this week's Hampton-Dumont High School homecoming pranks – including the toilet-papering of many downtown landmarks Sunday night.

Council Member Jim Davies addressed the investigation of Kazmerzak and urged the public to keep looking for him.
