It’s fair time!
This week is one of the busiest of the year for Franklin County, so take a few moments this week to enjoy the sights and scenes of the Franklin County Fair. Whether its catching some top-notch entertainment, grabbing a cup or two of the old-fashioned homemade ice cream, paying a visit to Grandpa’s Farm, perusing the exhibits and vendors, or supporting our 4-Hers as they show off what they’ve done and learned over the course of the past year.
The fair allows the communities throughout the county to come together and showcase what’s best about Franklin County. Take a few moments to enjoy it.

A job well done
While we’ve taken space over the past few weeks to promote the fireworks show, its important to congratulate the efforts of those involved in coordinating the fireworks show in Hampton on July 3. Many of the comments we’ve heard ranks the show among the best, if not the best, in Hampton in nearly a generation. The location of moving the fireworks from Beeds Lake to the fairgrounds was a wise one. It was well received and allows for a safer venue for sightseers. We’re hopeful the event will continue next year at the fairgrounds to build upon this year’s successes.
