Chief Cain leaving Sheffield for Sheriff's Department

Sheffield Police Chief Sam Cain will soon be leaving the City of Sheffield.
On Monday, January 28, Cain put in notice that he had accepted a job to be a deputy with the Franklin County Sheriff's Department.
"I've known Sheriff Dodd for a long time and he seems like a great guy to work for," said Cain.
Cain's last day as Police Chief will be on Monday, February 11, at which point the city council is expected to discuss replacement plans during their regular meeting. The city has been in the process of hiring a second police officer since last fall. Cain's departure will doubtlessly effect how the city approaches the situation from here.
