Charles Schermer, 73

 Family graveside services for Charles Schermer, 73, will be held 1:oo p.m., Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Marion Center Cemetery, rural Latimer, by Post 183, American Legion, Hampton, Iowa. He passed away at his home in Palmetto, Florida, June 20, 2022.

 Charles Allen Schermer was born in Hampton, Iowa, April 25, 1949, a son of Raymond and Meta (Imerman) Schermer. He attended Hampton Community Schools, graduating in 1967 then attended a mechanical Trade School.

 In 1969 Charles was drafted into the US Army where he served in Vietnam in the Infantry. He was honorably discharged in 1971.

 When he returned home Charles began driving truck and eventually relocated to Florida where he was a driver for TLC, a construction company. He worked up to a supervisory and office position and retired in 2018.

 Charles was an avid sports fan following the Twins and Vikings and when in Florida the Rays and the Buccaneers.

 Surviving family include his sister: Jean Schermer, Luck, WI; brother: Kirk Schermer, Cowansville, PA; Ron (Dee) Schermer, Hampton; nieces and nephews: Bill (Gabrielle) Schermer; Mary (Jordan) Printy; Kara Schermer; great-nieces and nephews: Beck Schermer; Delaney Schermer, Maeve Printy; Millie Printy; Maclan Printy and numerous cousins.
