LATIMER – Despite controlling the ball for the majority of the first half and taking four times as many shots as the visitors, the CAL/H-D/B-K boys’ soccer team found itself in a 2-0 hole at the break.
An opening header off of a corner kick 19 minutes, 1 second into the match opened the floodgates for Garner-Hayfield/Ventura in an eventual 4-1 loss in the Cadets’ opener.
Coach Steve Winsor’s team put up 12 shots on goal, a handful of which were off the mark, but four really big saves were also made by Cardinals’ goalkeeper JJ Loschen.
