LATIMER – A sign of progress.

Whereas last year CAL’s football team often suffered from negative plays, the Cadets have already shown signs of positive plays – even against the No. 3 team in 8-Man football, Newell-Fonda.

Still, CAL is a work in progress after suffering an 81-7 loss to the Mustangs last Friday night.

“We’ve improved in small steps,” CAL coach Scott Striegel said. “The bottom line is we need to get in the weight room – we need to do some things there with our kids.

“They’re a very good football team. They came out and had a lot of speed out there and did some very good things against us.”
