LATIMER – Too bad the regular scoreboard at CAL’s football field became inoperable for this Friday, Sept. 26 Class 8-Man District 3 game between the Cadets and Tripoli.

If it had been in operation at the start of the game, it could have stopped working simply by the amount of work it had to endure in which the two teams combined for 101 points.

And CAL came out looking to shock the Panthers, taking the ball only two plays into the contest as quarterback Kainan Braun went 62 yards for a score and converted on a fake PAT attempt for a two-point conversion run by Juan Gomez to lead 8-0 early.

But Tripoli answered just three plays later and the shoot-out was on in the 73-28 game.
