CAL loses lead in last five minutes to drop opener

LATIMER – From the moment Emily Quinones hit a three-pointer a few minutes in CAL’s girls’ basketball team held the lead until 4:55 remained.

And then it all went wrong for the Cadets as they dropped their season opener, 40-35, to Northeast Hamilton on Tuesday, Nov. 25.

The troubles began when foul trouble got the best of senior starter Sidney Turner.

“When we don’t have Sidney handling the ball, it is kind of tough,” First-year CAL coach Mike Rapp said....
