CAL hoping to keep the ball rolling in 2014-15

School administrators at CAL are hoping students and faculty members can build off last year’s momentum and continue academic progress during the 2014-15 school year.

 

The school implemented a series of intervention initiatives last year aimed at improving student success in literacy, math and other areas. The tactics paid off, as CAL saw proficiency rates improve district wide.

 

The school plans to expand those programs and continue improving in the new year, which starts Tuesday, Aug. 19.

 

“We’re not going backwards. We’re going to continue offering quality opportunities for our kids,” said Superintendent Dwight Widen. “After meeting with the leadership team this week, it was clear we want to continue with what we’re doing and tweak things.”
