ALEXANDER – In need of only one out to end the seventh inning, CAL head coach Ralph Bell was forced to make a pitching change.
And then everything went wrong that could for his Cadets in an eventual 5-3 loss to previously winless Colo-Nesco on Thursday, June 4.
With two outs in the seventh and the score tied at 2, starting pitcher Kainan Braun ran out of innings allowed for pitching in a week, forcing a change in momentum after two quick outs had been recorded.
He had allowed only four hits, struck out four and issued two walks in allowing only one of two earned runs.
