Bulldogs pound Clear Lake in softball opener

HAMPTON – All but one starter from last season returns to Hampton-Dumont’s softball team this year, leaving little question to the potential from the Bulldogs’ 14-12 campaign a year ago.
The only gap to fill was at third base and it was done nicely by sophomore Callie Grover.
She was in on the hit parade coach Kelly Meader’s team managed in its opener, a 13-1 rout of Clear Lake in four innings on Wednesday, May 27. H-D combined for 12 hits, five in the first inning.
“I was very pleased with how aggressive they came out at the plate,” Meader said....
