Bulldogs lead early, eventually fall to Crestwood

HAMPTON – Little by little, Hampton-Dumont lost momentum against non-district Class 3A visiting Crestwood on Friday, Sept. 4 in an eventual 34-19 loss to the Cadets.
With the Bulldogs leading 13-0 and a little more than 5 minutes left in the first half, Crestwood answered quickly to cut the lead to 13-6 at the break and continued to chip away.
Ask H-D head coach Jerry Shafrath, and he answers he wasn’t completely surprised by the outcome.
“Oh no, I knew they were pretty good,” Shafrath said. “They’re physical...."
