HAMPTON – Saying that the Hampton-Dumont girls’ tennis team is on an upswing is an understatement.
The Bulldogs totally eclipsed their previous season-best win total and performance on Monday, May 6 with a 7-2 win over Fort Dodge St. Edmond to end their regular season on a four-game win streak and finished 5-5 overall.
“I think last year we really struggled to compete with a lot of teams,” H-D coach Derrick Turner said. “This year, we have a lot more of experience and just getting the ball rolling a little more. As we got toward the end of the season, it really paid off. These girls with long practice hours and these tiebreaker matches really gives them a lot of experience.”
