HAMPTON – Down two games against North Central Conference foe Clarion-Goldfield/Dows, the Bulldogs had a chance to force a fourth with a 24-17 lead against the Cowgirls.
And then they couldn’t shut the door.
The visitors rallied back, completing the sweep with a 25-20, 25-19, 26-24 win over Hampton-Dumont on Thursday, Sept. 10 at Hampton.
“(I told them) just to relax,” H-D coach Dave Harms said of the timeout he called while C-G/D was rallying in the final game. “We had several game points up on the board we had earned and to keep hitting and be aggressive, keep doing what we were doing.”
