Bulldogs bow out of postseason play

The Hampton-Dumont girls’ basketball team saw its stellar season come to an end Saturday night with a 59-47 loss to Clear Lake in the Class 3A Region 2 final.
The Bulldogs ended the season at 20-3 and co-champions of the North Central Conference, but those accomplishments were momentarily trumped after Saturday’s defeat. The loss marked the second-straight year H-D came up one game short of reaching the state tournament in Des Moines.
“I didn’t say a whole lot to the girls after the game. What else can you really say?” said head coach Chad Johnson.
