HAMPTON – Clear Lake may boast one of the best players in Class 3A, but Hampton-Dumont’s girls’ golf team was just strong enough to top the Lions on a soggy Hampton Country Club on Tuesday, May 5.
Emily Snelling, who averages the second-lowest scores in 3A, shot 42 for the Lions for the medalist spot.
However, H-D’s Katelyn Baltes was the runner-up at 49, despite shooting an 8 on one hole to lead the Bulldogs to a 213-214 win.
More on this story will be found in the May 13 print and online editions of the Hampton Chronicle.
