Bulldog tennis opens with win

HAMPTON – Opening up a big lead only to see Webster City rally in singles, the Hampton-Dumont boys tennis team’s first tennis meet of the season came down to No. 4 singles and senior Josh Freyholtz.
When No. 3 singles player Jacob Grefe walked off the court following a 10-3 loss to Kolton Gemmel, Freyholtz led 4-1 on serve.
At 40-15, Freyholtz served up an ace to take a commanding 5-1 lead in the 10-game pro-set and went on to top Jonathan Dixson 10-1 to clinch the 5-4 opener for coach Jim Davies’ team...
