Building upgrades proposed for H-D football complex

Facilities at the Hampton-Dumont football field could receive a shot in the arm this year if funding requests are granted within the next month.

Joe O’Brien met with the H-D Board of Education Feb. 18 and presented the group with blueprints for a new all-in-one building at the football field that would house bathrooms, a consession stand, and ticket booth. The idea was presented to the board last year to gauge interest, but plans got put on the back burner.

“We kind of dropped the ball for a while. After the exciting season H-D had this year, we thought what better time to pick it back up,” O’Brien said.

The proposed building would be located in the center of the south end of the football complex. The plans call for two entrance ways, which would be wider than the current ticket booth and allow for a better flow of traffic.
