H-D Drama Dept. awarded for "Music Man" production
 
     Young thespians from Hampton-Dumont High School hit the big stage last week during a special ceremony honoring the best musical theater performances of the year.
     Members of the H-D Drama Department participated in the third annual Iowa High School Musical Theater Awards held June 1 at the Civic Center in Des Moines. The event recognized 30 musicals from across the state for outstanding performances and exceptional production quality. Hampton-Dumont received three separate awards for the drama department’s November 2014 production of “The Music Man,” which was quite an honor considering the level of competition.
     A majority of the schools at the ceremony were from large metro areas like Des Moines, Waterloo and Cedar Rapids.
